Information Technology Management
Message from the Chair

21st century organizations operate within global networks of customers, suppliers, competitors, and regulations. Information is the lifeblood of these networks, and effective information management is essential to a firm's success. IT creates entrepreneurial and strategic opportunities as well as challenges in this environment.  Managers must be able to evaluate new technologies, wisely invest in IT innovations,  implement and manage applications, and manage the flow and use of information through IT-enabled business processes. Our mission in the Department of Information Technology Management is to help mangers be successful in this technology-intensive world.

As researchers, we investigate the technical and social dimensions of emerging information technologies:  organizational and social aspects of IT, IT architecture and business alignment, information security, systems development, governance of global outsourcing and many other critically important areas.  As educators, we integrate the knowledge we gain through our research with best practices from IT management into innovative curricula.  We offer an undergraduate major in Management Information Systems, as well as concentrations in ITM in the MBA program and global ITM in the International Management PhD program.
Our faculty is known internationally for contributions to research and practice.  We invite you to learn about our faculty, research and educational programs through our web site.
